John Zurick, ZQI president, project director

John Zurick

John is a lifelong social entrepreneur, working in both the nonprofit and for-profit arenas, concentrating on ventures that influence the quality of society.

He began his career in Boston as a producer of commercial theater, where he presented projects at the Shubert Theater and Charles Playhouse. He worked in advertising as creative director on the Wendy's Hamburger account. He raised $4 million in 1989 and started Finis, Cincinnati's award-winning video post-production company. He served five years as marketing director of Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, introducing the orchestra's 16,000-seat outdoor concert venue, Riverbend Music Center. He is the executive producer of the documentary, Bill Monroe, Father of Bluegrass, which aired on TNN and the BBC. From 1997 to 2001 he was executive director of Cincinnati Ballet, helping that company raise $10 million for its endowment and headquarter expansion.

John works with leaders of socially-responsible ventures seeking turnarounds and breakthroughs.

He holds an M.F.A. from Brandeis University and a B.A. from the State University of New York, Brockport campus.

Deborah Anderson, R.N., MPA, contract project manager/healthcare

Debby AndersonDeborah Anderson has over 30 years experience in the healthcare field and executive level management, with a particular emphasis in the area of public health. Most recently, she served as the Assistant Health Commissioner for the City of Cincinnati, where she previously served as Director of Nursing.

Her background includes managed care contract negotiations, policy development at the local and state level, budget negotiations and analysis with local government officials, grant management, and labor-management relations. She has a strong history of developing and nurturing collaborative partnerships representing a variety of healthcare disciplines and agencies.

Deborah has received numerous awards and recognitions from the healthcare community, including the City's Strivers for Excellence Award and the 2003 Health Care Heroes Manager Award from the Cincinnati Business Courier. She most recently managed ZQI's project with the Nutrition Council of Greater Cincinnati, developing a community-wide plan to address childhood obesity in the Greater Cincinnati area.

Joanna Argus, contract project manager

Joanna ArgusJoanna's background is in the pharmaceutical industry, in clinical research and study management. Beyond getting investigational drugs onto pharmacy shelves, her skills also include writing, with experience in all genres from grant-writing and creative nonfiction to sketch comedy scripts. A native of Cincinnati, and a graduate of Xavier University, Joanna works closely with ZQI contract clients.

Chris Stormann, Ph.D., contract project manager/research and development

Chris StormannChris Stormann is a researcher at the Institute for the Study and Prevention of Violence evaluating systems of care for children. He is the co-founder of www.PeopleThatClick.com, a social networking site serving entrepreneurs from over 70 countries. Chris was the Director of R&D at the Eureka! Ranch, a corporate think tank led by Doug Hall featured on ABC’s American Inventor and recognized by Inc. Magazine as “America’s top new product idea team."

He co-invented a new product profiler and forecasting model named a "Top 20 emerging technologies in America” by Fortune Small Business. Chris received his doctorate from the University of Cincinnati in criminal justice with an emphasis in systems research.
